Food has always has been a constant area of curiosity in my life. Raised on the East End of Long Island, I was exposed to some of the best produce and seafood on the East Coast. Traveling to places near and far food has always been the part of those adventures that suck with me—initially leading me to get my master’s degree in Management with a focus on food and environmental justice at the New School. I worked for an important organization Wellness in the Schools, organizing NYC public school cooking classes. Finally realizing that my passion was working with food, not just talking about it.
Soon after that, I ended up at The Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. My first experience in the professional world was at Lilia, a Brooklyn restaurant, where I learned from Chef Missy Robbins. While at Lilia, I was able to round out my skill set by working in the pastry/cafe program. This brought me to some of my most favorite restaurants, Cervo’s located on the Lower East Side, and Hart's in BedStuy. Both places taught me how food could build a family and community in a city as busy as NYC. The food is also simple, responsibly sourced, and delicious. It wasn’t long before I was called back to the East End to work as a recipe developer at Round Swamp Farm. My job was to figure out what to do with the excess produce that was grown on-site! Throughout all of these experiences, I kept clients on the East End and NYC happy with services ranging from weekly meal prep to casual cocktail parties to intimate private dinners.
Knowing where the food is coming from and what goes into the food is an integral part of my cuisine. Regarding my clients, these relationships are just as meaningful, while I am very discrete; I enjoy engaging with both the hosts and guests. I love the feeling of bringing beautiful food to people and hearing their comments about their experience. I bring aspects of fine dining into your home, with a calm and sophisticated demeanor, while using local and seasonal foods when possible.
